Pythagoras square is the main landmark in Samos town port. The surrounding neoclassical and interwar buildings, the tall palm trees and a marble lion statue, give the small Mediterranean piazza a distinctive identity.

The regeneration of the square and adjacent streets has set as priorities the removal of vehicle traffic circulation and the preservation of an empty public space next to the activities of the surrounding bars and tavernas. The central space has been delimited by inclined concrete surfaces where new seating areas are sculpted.

The project has been partially constructed. In the central area, the old stone plates were repositioned in a new pattern. The remaining part of the square and the surrounding streets were paved with new simple-cut stones and gravel mosaic.
